Red Kite Yurt

Red Kite Yurt is a traditional Mongolian-style yurt made by Avalon Yurts at Glastonbury and furnished and decorated in the colours of this iconic bird of prey. Sited on its own in Home Meadow, it has a magnificent king-size sleigh bed and log-burner inside and a field kitchen with seating outside. Sleeping two adults and up to two children (age range 5-12), it is available from April to October for short breaks or longer holidays. Sadly, because we have free-roaming hens (Katy, Jackie, Sara, Sara, Sara and Sara, plus Monty the cockerel) and very free-roaming cats (Bobby, Rosalyn and Sandy), we unfortunately cannot take dogs.

"Red Kite Yurt is a lovely relaxing place to stay with everything you could need to make your visit as comfortable as possible. In the evening there were lovely views of the Cambrian Mountains." Doug and Jo

"We stayed in the Red Kite Yurt during September. The hosts were very kind and helpful and the set-up of the yurt and toilet/shower facilities were good. The paths over the extensive grounds were well laid out and easy to follow. We are planning another visit next year." Paul and Janette

“A delightful stay at Orchid Meadows in the Red Kite Yurt. A brilliant view and setting to wake up to in the morning. Lynn's cakes are worth the visit alone. Great location for walks in the mountains or along the coast.” Jacque and Chris

“The yurt is beautiful and was super toasty with the wood burner. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and cooking apparatus. The shower and toilet were clean and had good shower pressure. Great place, would definitely recommend.” Kirsty and Tom

“We have just returned from Orchid Meadows. I can honestly say it was such a fantastic experience – it was everything we hoped for and more. Lynn and Steve were so lovely, we were made to feel very welcome on our arrival and for the duration of our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The yurt was so comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be returning.” Carla

"When we were shown our yurt in its own private field, we were simply blown away. The views are breathtaking as well as the rest of the property which they have opened up for us all to experience. I lost count of how many times I walked around their amazing paradise looking at nature, lily ponds, highland cattle, cheeky chickens and stunning views.
As for the yurt and its facilities, it is extremely homely with everything you could ever need. Lovely big bed, woodburner and comfy sofa." Gareth and Charlotte

“Red Kite Yurt was spotless upon our arrival and a pleasure to stay in. Toilet and shower facilities were immaculate and only a short stroll from the yurt. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and as for the surrounding scenery, wow!” Nick

"Thank you so much for having us. We are taking away happy memories from this trip." Carlos and family

"I'm so glad we found this gem to escape to! It was an ideal location for accessing so much of Wales, yet it felt isolated and absolutely private. Having our own meadow and 25 acres to explore was an absolute delight, the children were thrilled!" Elsie, Jordan and family

"Great facilities and very rural, so the site is lovely and quiet. Family friendly with some nice little touches, including home-baked goods and milk on arrival. Would recommend for anyone looking to escape to the countryside." Claire and family

"We want to say thank you so much for our stay in your beautiful yurt. We would 100 per cent stay again in the future and would recommend it to anyone visiting Wales." Andy and Jazz

"The yurt was beautiful and had everything we needed. The area was so peaceful and the owners were lovely. Bathroom was clean and the yurt was spotless when we arrived. Lovely addition was the fresh produce list that we could request items from, and the mini tuck shop full of goodies. We’d 100 per cent recommend anyone to stay here and we will definitely be returning. It was exactly the peaceful weekend getaway we were looking for. Thanks so much!" Steph and Morgan

"Comprehensive facilities, great natural location, always willing to oblige... Thank you!" James

"Loved staying here, beautiful yurt and surroundings. They were very friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed the complimentary produce offered. Overall, a lovely experience, would recommend." Jonathan

"We had a lovely stay with Steve and Lynn, a wonderful couple! All details were right and it is located at a beautiful place. Wellies are highly recommended in October :) but for us that was the true glamping feeling. We would definitely return!" Bianca and Herman

"We had such an amazing stay at Red Kite Yurt at the end of October. The yurt is set in a beautiful meadow which is so peaceful and relaxing. The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, want and more! Inside, the yurt is furnished to a very high standard, the bed is super comfy, there is a sofa for you to sit and chill out on, there are books available, board games, cards and even a guitar with a beginners guide on how to play! Honestly you will not be disappointed staying here. We didn’t want to leave." Laurie and Neil
