Goldfinch Glampavan was once a touring caravan made in the 1980s. It has now been lovingly repositioned near our orchard and given a quirky twist to become a glampavan. It is furnished and decorated in the bright, beautiful colours of this pretty garden bird. There is a small double bed inside, plus somewhere to sit by the candlelight during the evening while outside you will find your private field kitchen with seating. Sleeping two adults and up to one child (age range 5-12), Goldfinch Glampavan is available from May to September and prices start at just £41 a night. Located in a secure and secluded part of the site, Goldfinch Glampavan is also dog-friendly (but please see doggy advice in FAQs below).

"I spent four nights in the Goldfinch Glampavan in late September 2022. The converted touring caravan was comfortable, the covered outdoor kitchen facilities excellent and the secluded setting beautifully peaceful. Steve and Lynn were very welcoming hosts throughout my stay, as well as providing me with local produce and delicious home-baked food for my kitchen. The added wow factor of Orchid Meadows is its 25 acres of upland meadow, scrub and lower-lying marshy areas, all criss-crossed by grass paths and with strategically positioned benches where I could sit and admire the view. It really did feel like having my private nature reserve." Nigel

"The site is stunning and peaceful – a great little escape. Goldfinch Glampavan was really cosy and roomier than it looked from the outside! Comfy bed, lovely kitchen set-up under cover outside and modern, clean toilet and shower. My visit was topped off with a hedgehog by the gate. Lovely place. Would definitely stay again." Sarah

"A great place to get away to and relax, either for a peaceful retreat or as a base to explore the countryside and coastline of mid-Wales. Lynn and Steve were wonderful hosts - there when you needed them. Good, clean, comfortable accommodation and key equipment provided. Thanks for a great stay." Richard

“This was my second visit to Orchid Meadows and, in spite of some cold and damp April weather, it was another delightful stay. Steve and Lynn are great hosts and the location is perfect.” Nigel
“What an amazing place! We stayed in the glampavan and it was one of the best holidays we’ve had - Lynn and Steve were very welcoming and literally thought of every little detail that might be needed. The site is located on a nature reserve and we had a couple of lovely walks around, identifying plants. Also the cats are very friendly and followed us around everywhere, which our 10-year-old loved! All in all a lovely, lovely holiday and this is definitely going to be somewhere we return to time and time again.” Katy and family

"We (1 adult and 2 children, 14 and 10) have had a real adventure this week. I have come home feeling for the first time a sense of rest from a holiday. The glampervan was comfortable and beautiful and the set up in the field kitchen was outstanding. We have had campfires every night and a couple in the mornings for breakfast and in between we ordered the delicious breakfast hamper. We read and cooked and explored and enjoyed a wonderful week in nature. Did I mention the cosy bed? We already miss Monty and the Saras and will definitely be back. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for a week that we will cherish!" Alix with Max and Bea

"Both amazing hosts! Always available if I needed help. I absolutely loved staying in Goldfinch Caravan. I enjoyed lovely walks around the reserve n the mornings. Would definitely recommend staying again!" Abbey

"Liked everything, from the homemade cakes on arrival, clean accommodation and shower, organic eggs and veg, nature reserve on-site. All you need to bring is clothes and a toothbrush, which was great for me on a small motorcycle." Andrew

"Second time staying in the glampervan and it didn't disappoint! We'd like to make staying at Steve and Lynn's place an annual thing because we love it so much. It's unbelievable how much Steve and Lynn are willing to do for you. Lynn makes the most amazing cakes too! We were allowed to go and pick apples and other fresh produce, which was fab. Stay here and tell your friends and get them to stay here too, you won't be disappointed. Thank you both for a lovely recharge, just what we needed. Btw Steve and Lynn, you're lucky Sandy the cat didn't make her way into our bag when we left!" Katy

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Goldfinch Glampavan! Very well catered accommodation with everything you need for a luxurious camping trip including, but not limited to, a dedicated flushing toilet/fantastic hot shower and shared washing up/fridge facilities. Directly outside the van is a wonderful kitchen area with gas stove, under cover seating plus a bbq/fire bowl/pizza oven in the private orchard. It’s a beautiful site and very relaxing. The cats were super friendly and the cake box went down very nicely! Thank you :)" Emma and Jocken

"Thank you Steve and Lynn for a wonderful time! We will be coming back again! What a magical place you have! We loved how peaceful the site was. We couldn't fault the facilities, they were clean and tidy! Lynn and Steve were great hosts! They were both there if you needed anything. Let's not forget to mention Lynn's cakes! They were delicious! This is a place not to miss!" Lowell and Jane

"We had such a lovely stay at Goldfinch. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Lynn had left us some homemade cakes which were absolutely delicious – such a thoughtful touch! The place was spotlessly clean, and it’s clear that everything has been carefully considered, from the powerful shower to all the essentials being well stocked. The fire pit was a real treat in the evenings and we made great use of the pizza oven on our first night – a brilliant addition. The site itself is beautifully peaceful and much bigger than we expected, so we enjoyed a good explore, even though the weather tried to hold us back. A special mention has to go to the lovely cats who visited us morning and night – making sure we were properly looked after. They were such sweet company and a big hit with all of us, especially our son." Amy and family
