Cakes

What could be better than reaching your cottage, yurt or glampavan and finding a complimentary box of cakes with tea-bags and milk on hand to complete the welcome? It's what you get as standard when you stay at Orchid Meadows. And the cakes are all home-baked by Lynn, who ran her own tea-shop in Yorkshire for almost 40 years. After you book, we will contact you to ask if you have any food allergies or intolerances.

Breakfast

Breakfast baskets

Why not indulge yourselves and leave breakfast to us? After all, you are on holiday. Order by 6pm the day before for delivery at a time to suit you ready for you to enjoy at your leisure. Please note: If you are staying in Tawny Cottage, a self-service breakfast is already included with your stay.

A breakfast basket typically contains (at £6.50 per person)...

Organic Welsh yoghurt (contains milk)

Home-made fruit muffin (contains eggs and wheat)

Warm croissants (contains wheat) with butter (contains milk) or olive oil spread and Orchid Meadows blackberry jam

Flask of tea or coffee made to your personal specification

Naturally if you are staying a while and would like breakfast each morning, we will try to vary the contents. If you have any food sensitivities, we will do our best to work around those.

Produce

Fresh garden produce

As a working organic small-holding, we produce most of our own fresh produce, both vegetables and fruit. Last year we grew lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, herbs, edible flowers, courgettes, aubergines, peppers, shallots, squash, potatoes, runner beans, peas, Swiss chard, sweet corn, apples, pears, cherries, blackcurrants, damsons, medlars and more. This year, it is likely to be similar. We love to share what we grow with our guests and during your stay there will be a list of what we can provide, free of course, outside Wren Hut.

And our hens are laying well. The four Saras, supervised by cockerel Monty and the now-retired Katy and Jackie, will be delighted to provide fresh, free-range eggs for you.

We also produce a range of chutneys, jams and sauces, all of which are available to buy in our small site shop.

Eating in

Eating in

There are several options if you are looking to relax and enjoy an evening meal during your stay at Orchid Meadows.

Your kitchen

Tawny Cottage has a fully fitted kitchen, while Red Kite Yurt and Goldfinch Glampavan have two-ring gas cookers in their field kitchens.

Firebowls and grills

The cottage, yurt and glampavan all come with firebowls and grills for you to rustle up a great barbecue. And Dai Davies,  the master butcher in Tregaron, can provide a range of locally sourced things for you to cook. Alternatively, the Spar in Tregaron can provide a range of meat-free options.

Pizza ovens

There again, you might feel like a pizza. We can provide you with one of our portable wood-fired pizza ovens for you to serve up your pizza of choice.
