A warm welcome is extended to all chefs and diners at Orchid Meadows, whether you are meat-eaters, vegetarians or vegans. We would like to offer you the chance to roam into gastro-glamping, where the food is as important as the view and, indeed, often reflects it. Why not try some local Welsh produce or recipes? It is not all leeks. You can help yourself to fresh vegetables and eggs too as they become available in our polytunnel and hen-house. Or we can cater for you!

Local produce

At Orchid Meadows you can taste the very best of Wales. There is so much good food to try here. You may want to savour renowned Welsh lamb or traditional seaweed cakes, considered a Welsh delicacy. Or how about some cawl (traditional Welsh stew with lamb and root vegetables), Glamorgan sausages (vegetarian, made with Caerphilly cheese and leeks) or fish from the habour at Aberaeron, followed by some Welsh cakes or waffles?

We have a fine array of Welsh Local produce available featuring all these and more. Worth a special mention are barbecue items from the three, yes three, proper butchers in Tregaron.

Fresh from the polytunnel

As a working small-holding, we also grow most of our own fruit, vegetables and herbs. You will be able to help yourself to complimentary freshly picked items, depending on seasonal availability. And Katy, Jackie and Sara can oblige you with fresh free-range eggs.

Hearty meals and delicious cakes

Local produce. Fresh from the polytunnel. Hearty meals and delicious cakes.

You are, of course, on holiday and naturally you may want someone else to take the strain with the food. After nearly 40 years of running our own tearoom in Yorkshire, we think we can rustle up a pretty fair meal, a tasty quiche or a fine cake. We can provide a range of ready-cooked meals from our freezer, defrosted and ready to pop in the oven or on the firepit.

When you book, we will send you a menu of Bakery items you can order in advance but many things are available without the need to pre-book. If you wake up in the morning and decide you would like a lazy day, see what is available for dinner from our Day menu. You can even order a Breakfast basket, delivered to your accommodation ready for you to tuck into at your leisure (automatically included for Tawny Cottage).
