The Orchid Meadows cuckoo has arrived back for its annual shenanigans in the nest boxes. Actually, it is three days later than last year - apparently its flight was delayed - but it is yet another signal that the summer months are firmly on the way. In two days' time, we will be putting the yurt up and preparing the site for full opening. We're well stocked up with firewood for those campfires and have made other improvements for the coming season. New pathways have been cut in our new native wood, Goldfinch Glampavan now has even more privacy and a shorter route to the shower and toilet facilities, we have extra hens that are expected to start laying blue eggs soon, and there are new hammocks and more living willow sculptures by the pond.
